I Love You, You Love Me
Do you remember “Barney” the big purple dinosaur? (If not-Google it! And BTW-he is coming back in 2024) He, and his young friends (including…fun fact…singer/actress Selena Gomez) would share adventures featuring songs, dances and games that make learning fun. Hmmmm…sounds a lot like the mission we inspire to be at Growing Sound Play and Learn.
One of Barney’s most popular songs was the “I LOVE YOU” song. The song talked about love, family, hugs, kisses…it was simple. Just as it should be. And it was catchy. (We won’t play it here because it will be stuck in your head all day. Google it.) But we will talk about the beauty and joy of family engagement. Family engagement is a wonderful expression of love. Family engagement contributes to positive student outcomes (even in the youngest years). Family engagement helps build genuine relationships which help children grow and thrive. Family engagement creates a foundation for collaboration. There is real significance in getting involved with your children, and play is a wonderful part of that process.
We’ve recently added several games to the Growing Sound Play and Learn website that work great in a family engagement setting and yes-we even matched a Growing Sound song to each one. Fun and simple bingo games, memory and matching games, and storytelling games can bring the child and parent together for wonderful memory making moments.
Our top 5 Family Engagement Game suggestions include:
- Main Street Bingo (ages 6+)
- Build A Story Cards (ages 6+)
- Spring (or Garden) Memory and Matching Game (ages 3+)
- Dance Party Cards (ages 3+)
- Toddler Scavenger Hunt Cards (ages 2+)
February is known to be the month of LOVE. But LOVE should be in the family EVERY month…of EVERY year. Make the time to really show it.
Of course, if you ever want to drop us a note you can do so via email, or through our contact page. We welcome your feedback, comments, collaborations, and encouragement. info@gsplayandlearn.com
We Love You.
