The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

So, it’s been 3 months/90 days/2160 hours/129,600 minutes since we opened the virtual door to GROWING SOUND PLAY AND LEARN.  When I made the commitment to start this business, I vowed that I didn’t want it to become a 4th quarter Christmas shopping extravaganza. (I already did that in a previous life.) I want children, parents, teachers, and families to see the joy of bringing music, play and learning together all throughout the year. That is what matters.

But I got caught up… in the hoopla, the panic, the hype, and ultimately… the anxiety.  “I’m not reaching enough people. I’m not creating enough social media posts. I don’t have enough inventory. I need more shipping boxes. I need more tissue paper. I didn’t do enough pop-up shops. I need more SALES! I don’t think I can do this.”

What was happening to me? I was getting so absorbed in the “I’m Not”, “I Don’t”, “I Didn’t”, “I Need” and the “I Can’t” that I was starting to miss all the beautiful things that have been accomplished in just 3 short months. I Can Do It, I Can Count on You and I Can Settle Down was missing from my vocabulary.

Now, although I am normally a huge supporter of positive self-talk, I also started to realize the “WE” in this process has so much more merit.

  • “We just got our first order, and we love everything.”
  • “We are having so much fun playing this game over and over.”
  • “We are so grateful you chose our products for your website.”
  • “We are going to share your website with other preschool teachers.”
  • “We signed up on your email list and love the songs you sent in the digital sampler.”
  • “We’ll be back!” …and the list goes on.

Customers are truly happy to have found us and see the value of our mission. We’re in this together.

Yes, it is the most wonderful time of the year. A time for grace, mercy, watching, waiting and ultimately the most beautiful gift we could ever receive…a Savior.

Stop. Step back. Stay. Peace.

Of course, if you ever want to drop us a note you can do so via email, or through our contact page. We welcome your feedback, comments, collaborations, and encouragement. info@gsplayandlearn.com

Merry Christmas.
