“WAIT…STOP... I Want To Get Off
My goodness. Did you ever feel like you are on a roller coaster in life? Ups. Downs. Twists. And you keep holding on while in your head you are screaming “Wait. Stop. I want to get off.” I’ve been feeling a lot of this lately. As an entrepreneur there’s no doubt you have multiple responsibilities just as others have in their home and/or work life. It can be overwhelming at times.
Right now, at Growing Sound Play and Learn, we are dealing with things such as:
- Will tariffs affect our fall buying cycle?
- Will we have sufficient capital to keep moving forward?
- How many craft and vendor fairs should we do this year?
- Should we renew our boutique lease? Should we continue with this website?
- What products should we put on clearance?
- What is our best marketing strategy for social media?
And the list goes on and on.
Things get even more challenging as you decide to add to your team or start outsourcing some of these daunting tasks. It is very easy to just STOP and say you have had enough.
But then little reminders continue to creep in that tell you to hold on despite the ups, downs and twists. You meet someone who has been on that ride before, and an encouraging conversation motivates you. You get an email from a customer saying how much they loved their purchase. You meet a roomful of teachers who make the connection between your product and your mission (like we just did last month at the OHAEYC Conference.) You find a product manufacturer who isn’t worried about tariffs because their products are made in the USA.
The list goes on and on, but you start dreaming…again.
Carnival, fair and festival season are just on the horizon. You’ll see lots of rides popping up in parking lots. Or maybe you’ll head to a theme park for a summer vacay. You’ll see that roller coaster. It will be a reminder that life is full of ups, downs, and twists. But hold on-even when you feel like you want to get off. This month we want our blog to be that reminder for you. We’re almost at the halfway point of the year. There is still so much time. So much possibility. And if you make it through this ride…you might just want to go again.
Sharing some of the images from our time at the 50th Anniversary of the OHAEYC Conference. Now THAT was a wonderful ride!
